We Another outing come and gone. So many changes this year and once again, a success! In changing to a Saturday this year, we had some new faces and an awesome turnout. We added several young people to our group and a great time was had by all.
This year's winners were Hank Hines, Mike Hines, Rick Brock and Annie Davis. Second place went to Bob Nicholson Sr., Bob Nicholson Jr., Larry Firenzi and Larry Kozlowski. Closest to the pin went to Bill Gaynor and longest drive went to Ryan O'Flaherty.
I would like to thank you for your very generous donation. With your support, we raised just over $3,900.00! We were sponsored by Liberty Mutual who gave us $5.00 for every quote that was given for auto, home or life insurance by Bob Nicholson Jr. (thank you all for everyone who participated in that!) which added to our overall total. Once again, we were fortunate to have so many prizes donated for our raffle that generates the most income for our cause. As always, Perry George Hair Salon was so very generous in their many donations which is quite a hit at our event! Also, Tobacco Plus for giving everyone a cigar as they registered that morning. It was a nice touch that was added this year.
A big thank you to Hank Hines for his generous support every year (he hates when I acknowledge that but how could I not) and to Bob O'Neil who worked hard to bring so many of Steve's friends to participate this year. It was so great to see everyone!
We will be able to award another scholarship this year a student in the Professional Golf Management Program at Arizona State University. Thank you so much for helping me honor Steve in such a meaningful way. I am touched deeply by your support and generosity year after year and I know that Steve would have been touched as well..

Gleneagles Memorial 2008 Golf Tournament

I could not have asked for a better day on July 18, 2008 for the Fifth Annual Steve Farley PGM Memorial Golf Outing. The morning looked like it was going to be an oven, but the light breeze came in to make it a great day for all. Thirty-three participated in a scramble with several more for dinner and prizes. Kevin Farley won the 4 box seats to the White Sox vs. Red Sox game (generously donated by Jack Tumpane of Pinnacle Sales and Marketing)! He will be taking his son, Stephen, to his first major league baseball game. Congratulations to Kevin!
The winners this year were Hank Hines’ foursome (Hank Hines, Mike Hines, Paul Lieponis and Bill Hines). They won without Fr. Hugh’s “divine intervention” this year! Second place went to Ken Feldmeir, George Krizka, Jack Tumpane and Robert Zielinski (this was Robert’s first time golfing!). Closest to the pin went to Larry Firenzi and longest drive went to George Krizka (Robert Zielinski accepted).

I have to thank my daughter, Maureen – I could not have done this outing without her help. Also a thank you to Roe Eichorst who helped sell raffle tickets and who supported me all along. Another big thank you to Hank Hines for his very generous donation and support every year.
Next year we are looking at other options for this event, maybe moving it to a Saturday to accommodate more golfers. The date will not be determined until after the first of the year when Bob Jr gets his tournament schedule so he does not have to miss it like this year! I will keep you all posted!

Gleneagles Memorial 2007 Golf Tournament

It was a great day for golf on July 20, 2007 at Gleneagles Country Club in Lemont, Illinois, for the Fourth Annual Steve Farley /Gleneagles Men’s Club Memorial Golf Outing. Thirty eight participated in a scramble and 42 Men’s Club members participated in their regular playing while contributing to the fund with a chance at winning great raffle prizes and enjoying a great meal. Lucky Brian Olson won the two tickets on Southwest Airlines!
The winners this year were Bob Nicholson Sr., Bob Nicholson, Jr., Larry Firenzi and Ken Kozlowski. Hank Hines’ foursome (Hank Hines, Mike Hines, Rick Brock and Fr. Hugh) came in second. The reverse from the year before! Closest to the pin went to Mike O’Brien and longest drive went to John Leahy. Nobody won the car for the hole in one!
We would like to thank you for your very generous donation. With your support, we raised just over $10,000! Thank you so much for helping us honor Steve in such a meaningful way. We will be able to award at least two scholarships this year; one to a student in the Professional Golf Management Program at Arizona State University and one to a Gleneagles Men’s Club family member who is a college student.
There are many people to thank – Bob O’Neill for all his hard work in coordinating the Men’s Club from Gleneagles to participate; the staff at Gleneagles who worked so hard to make this event a success; all of those who participated and those who donated to the fund and were with us in spirit. Most of all, we would like to thank TransUnion who matched us dollar for dollar this year. We could not have been nearly so successful without their generosity.

It was a great day for golf on July 21, 2006 at Gleneagles Country Club in Lemont, Illinois, for the Third Annual Steve Farley /Gleneagles Men’s Club Memorial Golf Outing. Forty two participated in a scramble and Men’s Club members participated in their regular playing while contributing to the fund with a chance at winning great raffle prizes and enjoying a great meal.
The winners for the second year in a row were Hank Hines’ foursome (Hank Hines, Mike Hines, Rick Brock and Fr. Hugh) with Bob Nicholson’s foursome (Bob Nicholson Sr., Bob Nicholson, Jr., Larry Firenzi and Ken Kozlowski) coming in second.
We raised almost $7,000! Thanks in part to Transunion who matched $2,000.00 again this year. We will be able to award two scholarships this year; one to a student in the Professional Golf Management Program at Arizona State University and one to a Gleneagles Men’s Club family member who is a college student with financial need.

It was a perfect day for golf on July 22, 2005 at Gleneagles Country Club in Lemont, Illinois, for the Second Annual Steve Farley Memorial Golf Outing. Forty four participated in a scramble and Men’s Club members participated in their regular playing while contributing to the fund with a chance at winning great raffle prizes and enjoying a great meal.
The winners of the day were Hank Hines’ foursome (Hank Hines, Mike Hines, Rick Brock and Fr.. Hugh) with Tim Malone’s foursome (Tim Malone, Mike Power, Mike Hart and John Cangelosi) coming in second.
We raised almost $6,500! Thank you so much for all who helped us honor Steve in such a meaningful way. We will be able to award two scholarships to students in the Professional Golf Management Program at Arizona State University for the second semester.

2004 Golf Tournament
 It was a perfect day for golf on November 20 at Western Skies Golf Club in Gilbert, Arizona, for the First Annual Steve Farley Memorial Golf Outing. Seventy-four of Steve's friends golfed, while the Farley Girls drove around in carts taking photos and selling raffle tickets and split-the-pot tickets. All were wearing a kelly green ribbon (the Kidney Cancer symbol) in memory of Steve.
There was a skins game which nobody won, and the money was donated directly back to the fund. The split-the-pot was won by Carol Bohling, Steve's sister, (was that a typical Steve thing?) and her half went directly back to the fund as well!
With the support of many, we raised almost $5,000! We are so grateful that we were able to honor Steve in such a meaningful way. We are now able to award a scholarship to a student in the golf program at Arizona State University, which we will present on Steve's birthday, February 4.
There are many people to thank - Bob O'Neill for all his hard work in coordinating the guys from Gleneagles to come out; Scott and the staff at Western Skies for all their hard work (it paid off in a big way!); Ed Hitchcock, Cory Phinney and Tom Sanders, who donated all their pro shop credits to purchase items for the raffle; everyone who came out and made it such a fun and successful event; and those who donated to the fund and/or were hole sponsors and were with us in spirit.
