Steve Farley was an avid golfer who died on June 13, 2004 of kidney cancer. Steve was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois and moved to Phoenix, Arizona where he could golf twelve months a year. Steve was a generous man who, even when he had not much, would give you what he had. He was always trying to help the younger members of his family from his step daughters to his nieces and nephews. To keep his legacy alive, his family and friends have joined together to raise funds for a scholarship to be awarded to a student at Arizona State University in the Professional Golf Management Program. This program was near and dear to Steve’s heart as he loved the game of golf and his nephew, who graduated from the program in May, 2006.
The First Annual Steve Farley Memorial Golf Tournament was held November 20, 2004 at Western Skies Golf Club in Gilbert Arizona where Steve was member of the men’s club. Proceeds from the tournament went to the Steve Farley Memorial PGM Fund. To see pictures from the event, click on the Photo Gallery tab.
